On September 4th, it was revealed that Kayla Irvine and Mason Kartze were officially voted freshmen class ASB presidents. Irvine, the president during the fall term, is planning some exciting events, while Kartze starts her presidency in the spring term. They’re each looking forward to a great year and are thrilled to represent the ninth graders on campus.
“This freshman class is going to blow everyone’s mind!” said senior, ASB president, Jazzy Koehler, “They all have amazing leadership potential, and are so driven in and out of class. I hope they continue to grow, and be amazing leaders throughout the next four years, because I know they’re capable of it.”
Irvine and the other fall officers Joey King, Arabella Kriedeman and Olivia Song are currently in the stages of planning a movie night for October 5th which will be open to all VUSD high school students.
¨I’m super excited to work closely with all of our fall officers!” Irvine said. “We’re looking forward to having a positive school year for all freshmen, and are very excited to see where this year takes us.”
ASB spring freshmen president, Mason Kartze, intends to be a fair leader, and to not to exclude anyone. One of the future main events Mason will be managing is the Student vs. Staff game. Mason looks forward to having a collaborative environment and distributing the work equally with her spring class officers Payton Prince, Selena Estrada and Malea VanBrocklin.
“I think it would be unfair to have all of the power,” Kartze said. “everyone has potential to be a great leader so why should I be the only one in the spotlight.”
